Lavender and Sage Gimlet

Inspired by the Moody Mixologist from New Hampshire to make a fresh garden simple syrup and it was truly something special to add to an old favorite gin recipe, the Gimlet.

 

2oz. Indira Gin

1oz freshly squeezed lime juice

3/4oz lavender sage simple syrup

 

Shake for 10 seconds and stain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a thinly sliced lime for fresh garden lavender and sage leaves. If you want yours sweeter or less sweet adjust the syrup accordingly. Cheers! 

Lavender sage syrup: harvest 3 Tablespoons of fresh lavender before it flowers and two leaves of sage. Bring 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water to a boil and whisk until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and add lavender and sage. Steep for 10 minutes and double strain. Cool and store in the refrigerator for 2-3 weeks.
